It’s summer, and the sun is shining brightly. Celebrate the summer heat with this fun sunshine craft
This is what you’ll need:
Step 1 – Paint the Sun
Have the child spread out the paint on the plate using a paintbrush. Encourage the child to cover all the white on the plate.
*Tips for parents: Resist the urge to limit the amount of paint your child uses. Provide the materials and allow your child to really explore them. Letting kids use as much paint as they want teaches them to use appropriate amounts and stop when they feel they’re done.
Step 2 – Make a Face
Glue on the googly eyes and the yarn smile.
Step 3 – Make the Rays
After the paint is dry, glue on the noodles as the rays of sun.
*Tips for parents: This is a great opportunity to teach kids a new vocabulary word! The word “rays” describes the lines of light that shine out from the sun.
