Kids can make their very own birds nests out of paper lunch bags!
What You’ll Need:
Step 1 – Make the Nests
Carefully roll the tops of the paper bags out and down (as though you’re cuffing a pant leg). It may be helpful if an adult gets this started for the child, as it tears easily when starting out.
*Connect: Go out in the yard to see if you can find a nest, or look up pictures online. Talk about what shape the nests are in and what they look like.
Step 2 – Shred the Paper
Fold the construction paper using an accordion fold. Fold it as narrowly as possible. After it is folded, cut small (1/8” – ¼”) strips. If it’s too thick to cut, start with a smaller piece of construction paper.
*Connect: Look for other things to add to the nests, such as twigs, grass, or yarn.
Step 3 – Make the Eggs
Grab a chunk of dough and roll it between your hands to make egg shapes.
*Connect: Kids can mix several colors to make beautiful marbled eggs.
