Use this free resource to create one-of-a-kind turkeys this Thanksgiving.
What You’ll Need:
- Paint chips (most home improvement stores have these available for free)
- Brown construction paper
- Red or orange construction paper
- A circular object to trace around (such as a jar lid)
- Tape (optional)
Step 1 – Trace the shapes
Trace around the circular object to create the head from brown paper, then cut it out. Cut out triangle shapes from the red or orange paper.
*Connect: Kids can help trace or draw their own triangles to cut out. This is a great way to help children with their cutting skills too.
Step 2 – Make the tail
Have children glue or tape the paint chips to the back of the head, fanning them out to make the turkey tail.
*Connect: Use this time to name different colors, or ask your child what his or her favorite colors are.
Step 3 – Create the face
Have kids glue buttons and the beak to the turkey’s face.
