Aluminum foil provides a new sensory experience for children.
What You’ll Need:
Step 1 – Cover the cardboard
Tear a sheet of aluminum foil big enough to cover the cardboard. Have kids use it to cover the cardboard. Tape it to the back if necessary.
*Tips for Parents: Don’t worry if the aluminum foil is too crinkly. Wrapping, crunching and folding aluminum foil will help kids practice their fine motor skills.
Step 2 – Squeeze the glue
Encourage kids to squeeze glue onto the foil-covered cardboard.
*Tips for Parents: If you find kids are using too much glue, demonstrate how to use a smaller amount. Use a rhyme such as, “Dot, dot, not a lot” to demonstrate how to use small amounts of glue. If kids are not interested in gluing, ask them to squeeze the glue and move it to some music to create a glue design on the aluminum foil.
Step 3 – Collage
