Welcome the sun, flowers, and warmer weather with a spring window collage.
This is what you’ll need:
Step 1 – Cut out the window
Cut out four squares or rectangles in one sheet of construction paper to make a window shape.
Connect: Cut out a template for the square/rectangle window panes and have your child trace around them.
Step 2 – Paste the window onto the background
Connect: Encourage your child to choose the colors. What color reminds him or her of spring? Do you want the window to remind you of looking at the sky? Looking at green grass? Looking at the sun? This will give you a chance to discuss different colors. Look out your own window and talk about the colors you see.
Step 3 – Add spring shapes
Cut out flowers, butterflies, and birds from construction paper and have your child glue them to the window. Add glitter or stickers. Do a search on Pinterest for some DIY paper flowers. Make some and glue them on.
Connect: Go on a nature walk and collect some items that make you think of spring. Bring them home and add them to your collage. Hang the window on a wall where there is no window, or on a wall that you want to look at to think of spring!
