Help kids learn to write their names in a unique way!
What You’ll Need:
Step 1 – Draw the curves
*Tips for Parents: Most kids can do this step with a little instruction. Show them using your own paper. Place the marker at one edge, and talk them through it (Speaking slowly as you draw: “Curve the line uuuup, then doooowwn”). Some kids will benefit from having you draw the first line. They can draw a parallel line below yours.
Step 2 – Write the name
Again using the black marker, write the child’s name, stretching it from line to line. You can draw it just in the middle or in all the spaces available.
*Tips for Parents: Younger kids will need you to do this step for them. Older kids can write their own names. You may wish to write the name in pencil and have your child trace the letters with the marker.
Step 3 – Decorate
Encourage your child to decorate the artwork using color.
*Tips for Parents: Point out the different shapes made by the letters. Make a rainbow on the paper while discussing what colors make up a rainbow. At the end, kids may choose to trace over the letters with glitter glue.
