Help your child learn about color while practicing fine motor skills.
What You’ll Need:
- Construction paper in rainbow colors
- Craft sticks
- Tempera or acrylic paint in colors that match the construction paper
Step 1 – Cut out the Popsicle shapes
Fold a piece of Construction paper in half. Draw a rounded rectangle shape with the top at the fold. Cut it out. Repeat with each color.
*Tips for Parents: Kids can help draw the rectangles. Older kids can help with the cutting.
Step 2: Paint the Craft sticks
Step 3: Glue the paper Popsicle together
*Tips for Parents: This step might be best left to the grown up.
Step 4: Make some Popsicles!
Spread out the Popsicle shapes and Craft sticks on your child’s work area. Have your child select a Craft sticks and match it with the appropriate Popsicle color. The Craft sticks can easily slide into the Construction paper Popsicle at the bottom edges that were left open.
