Before You Start: Gather your materials: BioColor® paint, BioPutty® Solution, bowls or containers for mixing, measuring cups, and an air-tight bag for storage. The teacher may want to provide an art tray or mat to use with the BioPutty®.
Let's Get Started! Step 1. Shake BioPutty® solution vigorously and pour 1 quart of solution into a container.
Step 2. Pour 1/3 cup of BioColor® paint into the solution (only BioColor® paint will work).
Step 3. Run your fingers through the solution BioPutty® miraculously emerges, slithering through your fingers smooth and slimy.
Step 4. Combining two primary colors of BioColor® will result in a secondary color.
Step 5. Store BioPutty® in an airtight container or zip-closure bag for 7-10 days.
Step 6. Conforms to ASTM D-4236 standards.
Step 7. Note: Use this product under adult supervision.
Furthermore: This activity provides a great opportunity to introduce children to color blending. Create marbleized patterns by making long "snakes" of BioPutty® in different colors, and then twist together to make secondary colors. Add sand to your BioPutty® to create texture. You can also talk to children about the transformation of liquids to solids.
